D-Flight - a company in which ENAV holds 60%, with the remaining 40% held by an industrial partnership headed by Leonardo - is involved implementing a specific management system for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), commonly referred to as “drones”, and developing methods for delivering services through a platform designed to ensure the safe handling of remotely piloted aircraft.

D-Flight is Italian industry’s response to the challenge launched by the European Union. The U-space platform developed by D-Flight will enable the integration of multiple technologies for the safe handling of remotely piloted aircraft in civil airspace.

ExaDrone Academy is an R.E. recognized by ENAC and it is located within the Brasimone Research Center of ENEA. The mission is to provide high level training for all those who want to enter the world of drone piloting.

ExaDrone Academy is qualified to issue the European A2 (OPEN) and STS (SPECIFIC) flight accreditations. After the theory, you will practice in the fantastic Flight Field, with a view of Lake Brasimone, specializing in VLOS (STS-01) and BVLOS (STS-02). The training offer is completed by the many professional courses such as: UAS CRM, Aeronautical Communication, SORA Methodology, Aeronautical Regulations, Photogrammetry, Thermography, Video-Making and Precision Agriculture.

Our team is made up of experienced pilots and university lecturers, who will meet the student’s expectations. The aim is to provide theoretical knowledge, not limited to the necessary material, but broad of the subject, but also awareness and safety during flight with the aim of laying the foundations for becoming experienced pilots.

The Academy provides several services to support customers regarding STS and SORA Planning, Professional field surveys and the Flight Camp, equipped with two ENAC certified runways of 2km in BVLOS, available for drone flight exercises.

The Automation and Control Laboratory, managed by METAPROJECTS, is part of the Academy and specializes in research and development of new electronic engineering technologies. The Laboratory supports the development of new technologies applied to the world of drones, such as sensors, software and innovative applications.

The goal of ExaDrone Academy is to train experienced people, aware of the importance of the operations that take place and cultivate passion for this fun activity, sustainable and in great development, representing the future protagonist of the world of transport.
