THE EVENT

Drones and aerial mobility: ENEA Brasimone as an infrastructure to deal with technological, regulatory and operational challenges
Safety and security, transport and monitoring: innovation through a sandbox in Emilia-Romagna

Event promoTED BY

EMILIA-ROMAGNA REGION

in collaboraTION WITH

ENEA, Assorpas and BFWE

The current context, marked by geopolitical crises and environmental, health and social emergencies, calls for new solutions to ensure safety and resilience. Against this backdrop, drones and advanced aeromobility can make a vital contribution in terms of environmental monitoring, land surveillance, infrastructure protection and the transport of materials to hard-to-reach areas, as well as supporting routine services, with economic, industrial and social benefits.

To fully exploit their potential, it is necessary to develop appropriate physical, digital and regulatory infrastructure, in collaboration with ENAC. A ‘sandbox’ could play a key role: a testing facility at the ENEA Brasimone Research Centre (Bologna) in Emilia-Romagna where institutions, research bodies and businesses can collaborate to innovate and test new applications, laying the foundations for an innovative model that can be replicated in other contexts and contributing to safety, sustainability and the protection of the territory.
